Thanksgiving Snack Mix -Turkey Tidbit Crunch

You will crave the sweet and salty with the festive colors when you share this with your family and friends this year.  Pull out the games and put the snack mix out all during November!  Fun times ahead.  I also show this mix all packaged up with a cute Thankful (for you) tag to drop off to someone in this blog post.

Here are the directions -- Pop one batch of air popped popcorn. Don't butter or salt it.  Line 2 cookie sheets with wax paper -- super important and I always do it but I was so worried about getting pictures to show you that I forgot this step.  Don't forget the wax paper, trust me :)  Melt one package of white chocolate chips in your microwave.  I do this for 30 seconds and then stir and then zap another 10 seconds at a time stirring in between until the chocolate is melted.

Pour over the popcorn.  Stir. Lay out evenly on a cookie sheet and half of the second one.  Salt it.  Repeat melting a 1/2 bag of white chocolate chips and pouring over about 3-4 handfuls of pretzels in a bowl..  Now if you want to melt the whole second bag of chocolate chips and do more pretzels no one will judge you :)  My family likes the popcorn best so this is the perfect ratio for us.  Spread on the second half of another cookie sheet.  Let this harden.  This usually takes an hour.

Dump the pretzels and popcorn into a bowl.  Now pour in the bag of fall colored M&M's and the Peanut butter Candy-corns. Toss gently.  I like to serve this in something a little flatter so that the candies don't sink to the bottom and get missed.  This darling platter (in the top picture) is really a cake stand (you can't see it in the picture) that I bought at Target.  Pretty versatile and would be great for serving this mix in.  I plan on using the cake platter to weave festive colored ribbon in for another dessert for Thanksgiving dinner.  I'll show you that sometime-- it would dress up any thing you serve.  I'm thinking birthday, missionary farewells, holidays, you see where I am going with this  :) I hope you love snacking on this turkey tidbit snack mix.
